PROSECCO TOUR: VISIT THE UNESCO PROSECCO HILLS
Our Prosecco tour from Venice, Treviso, Jesolo and Cavallino-Treporti will allow you to discover, led by a local guide, the most beautiful and unusual places of the UNESCO hills: Valdobbiadene and Cison di Valmarino with its unique pass in the world, San Boldo.
Valdobbiadene is the “Capital of Prosecco Superiore” and has so much to offer visitors also from a historical and artistic point of view.
It presents itself with a diversified territory full of panoramas and glimpses that will remain well impressed in the mind. Landscapes of authentic beauty, marked by the rural, civil and religious history of the local people. The story of men and women who in their daily behaviors have marked the passage of time and modulated everyday life.
The inhabitants of Valdobbiadene still proudly remember the countryman Venanzio Fortunato, who, having become bishop of Poiters, described the landscapes of origin as lands in which “the vine blooms eternally under the mountain from the bare summit where the shady green protects and restores”. Venanzio Fortunato with poetic and gastronomic virtues, singer of the joys of the palate and of good wine, is the protector of the Prosecco Brotherhood.
PROSECCO TOUR: GET TO KNOW ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS WINES IN THE WORLD
The UNESCO Prosecco Hills area, sheltered from cold air currents from the north and mainly exposed to midday, benefits from a mild and temperate climate not subject to bad seasonal fluctuations.
The denomination of origin Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene can also be divided into Prosecco di Conegliano and Prosecco di Valdobbiadene which in fact indicate two production areas separated by the Soligo river in which the wine takes on different organoleptic nuances due to the geological nature of the land.
Prosecco obtained from grapes harvested in the Cartizze area, the original Cretaceous hill range between San Pietro di Barbozza, Santo Stefano and Saccol, has the right to be specified as Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze.
The particular nature of the soils and their exposure to the sun allow the grapes to become very sweet and from the wine, with a slow fermentation, to acquire a particular bouquet. The soil is rocky in depth and friable on the surface. It is mainly made up of limestone, clay and sandstone, which maintain the necessary humidity so that the plant can regularly and constantly draw nourishment, even in the sunniest and drought periods.
The harvest here is later, so as to allow the grapes to dry naturally on the plant.
There are those who say that this wine is worthy of being served at the table of the gods and in fact it is difficult to deny this saying.
During our Prosecco tour you will be able to get to know and taste various types of Prosecco and appreciate the differences.
