THE LANDS OF PIAVE: WALKING TOUR IN HEMINGWAY’S FOOTPRINTS

Discover wonderful places and many curiosities about nature, traditions and history
Visiting the lands of Piave means discovering the history of a great river that has given rise to civilizations and cultures. It means letting yourself be fascinated by the many facets of a territory that is fully lived and which offers enchanting views. It means retracing the tragic parenthesis of the Great War and remembering the tenacity of the inhabitants to rebuild the city.
With this excursion we will immerse ourselves in the history and traditions linked to the river sacred to the Motherland. We will depart from Noventa di Piave, whose development in the past was mainly based on the activity of the ancient river port, when the Piave was a great way of communication.
We will retrace the places of the Great War following the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway, places where the American writer was wounded and told in his books. We will see the famous Yellow House that was always present in his worst nightmares, recalling the anguish of those moments.
We will travel in time, immersing ourselves in the daily life of the last century.
Crossing the green meadows and the silent woods, learning the history, uses and customs of the Basso Piave, we will discover that what we find before our eyes is a very important naturalistic and historical heritage.
